A H-connection ((3)2"gate-valves)shall be installed in the supply lines in a proper <br /> valve vault(access riser is acceptable)to enable manual switching of the drainfields due <br /> to pump/control panel alternating failure. <br /> 8. 2" sch. 40 shall be used for the supply lines(Approx. 200 feet each). The lines shall <br /> be buried a minimum of 18". 1f rock is encountered in the ditch,the 2" lines shall be <br /> sleeved to prevent abrasion of the pipe in the rocky areas. <br /> 9. The pressure manifold will be 4"sch. 80 with 1/2"sch. 40 taps on at least 9"centers. <br /> Each tap shall have a 1/4 turn PVC ball-valve. The flow shall be regulated with a 2" <br /> PVC gate-valve. There shall be 2 PVC unions for easy removal of the manifold from the <br /> manifold vault. 3"PVC sch. 40 shall be used from the manifold vault to the nitrification <br /> lines. (See Pressure Manifold Standard Specification Sheet). <br /> 10. The manifold vault shall be constructed of concrete or equal and equipped with a <br /> easily removable cover for inspection/maintenance and to prevent the collection of rain <br /> into the vault. <br /> 11. In order to prevent erosion of the drainfield,the nitrification lines area shall be <br /> seeded with an acceptable type of grass for the area. Straw shall be placed over the <br /> seeded area. <br /> 12.
