Tim called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />II. Ashley moved, Chris seconded to approve the August 13th minutes. Motion passed. <br /> <br />III. UNC Student Liaison board position was on the September 4th Board of County <br />Commissioners’ consent agenda. It was pulled from the consent agenda for discussion. <br />Katie was tasked to research a possible similar student liaison with Durham Technical <br />College. UNC student, Evan Linnet is on the September 22 agenda for approval. <br /> <br />IV. Director’s Report <br />• Katie’s annual review went well. Katie presented her proposal for the Arts <br />Commission’s long range plan (see attached) to the Deputy County Manager. This <br />proposal illustrates the potential for a larger role for the Arts Commission and her <br />position which would make better use of her expertise. Katie was asked to rewrite her <br />job description to more closely reflect the scope of her position and asked her to go <br />forward with her proposal. <br />• Plans for the Paint it Orange plein air event are going well. OCAC is hosting the artist’s <br />reception at C3 on Sunday October 21st. This reception will be for artists, their guests, <br />OCAC and HAC board members, town and county officials. OCAC board members are <br />asked to make a monetary contribution to help cover catering expenses for the <br />reception. Please make your check payable to HAC marked “Plein Air” and send them to <br />Doris Friend, 5812 Dodson’s Crossroads, Hillsborough. Any amount will be much <br />appreciated! <br />• LocalFest is coming up on September 29th. Thanks to OCAC board members who served <br />as jurors.
