Tim called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />II. Introductions of Molly Weybright and Evan Linnet <br /> <br />III. Linda moved, Marlon seconded to approve the July 14th minutes. Motion passed. <br /> <br />IV. Katie discussed the creation of a UNC Student Liaison potion on our Board. The term of the <br />position will be one year. The current UNC Liaison will be responsible for recommending <br />his/her replacement from the UNC senior student body. Dan moved and Marcela seconded <br />the proposal of adding the liaison position pending approval by the BOCC on September 4th. <br />If approved, Evan Linnet will serve in this position. Motion passed. <br /> <br />V. Director’s Report <br />• Board bios are on the website. If you have not submitted a photo, please do so. <br />• Grantee checks will be presented at the BOCC meeting on September 4th at 7:00 at the <br />Whitted Building. Board members are encouraged to attend to congratulate our <br />grantees. <br />• Katie will be scheduling sub-committee meetings this week. If you need to change your <br />assignment, please contact Katie. <br />• Planning for the Paint it Orange plein air event is underway. Dates are October 19-21. <br />Board members are encouraged to think of potential sponsors among your family, <br />friends and network. Artists’ registration is live on the website this week. <br />• LocalFest is coming up on September 29th. Planning is going well. OCAC has received 26 <br />artist applications as of this date. Board members with a visual arts expertise are asked <br />to serve as jurors. <br />• Katie is working with Carrboro and Chapel Hill to respond to a Z. Smith Reynolds grant <br />opportunity for a public arts placemaking project.
