Date 12/17/2018 <br /> Approval Recommended: . - .: Date 12/14/2018 <br /> Over the course of the project significantly more rock was encountered than originally anticipated.Rock was not <br /> expected to be present along the force main however several hundred cubic yards were encountered,likewise <br /> quantities greatly exceeding expectations were found to be present at the pump station site and along the gravity <br /> section.The bid quantity included for this project allowed for 1,000 cubic yards of rock(Bid Item 48),approximately <br /> 5,080 cubic yards of rock has been or is expected to be encountered during construction.This quantity has been <br /> measured by the Contractor and verified by the Engineer to be both reasonable and accurate.The total projected <br /> cost increase of the rock overrun is estimated to be$212,160.00.To contend with this unforeseen rock quantity <br /> the Contractor has requested an additional 69-days,after reviewing this request the Engineer recommended a 35- <br /> day extension as the rock did not prevent work from progressing in other areas of the project as well as overlap <br /> with other requested days. <br /> CPR O11 <br />
