Possible Data Sources <br />'The study team believes that it is essential to collect data at the school level to <br />answer the research questions. Every effort will be made to use existing <br />information sources to answer the research questions, rather than collect <br />additional data. To further minimize data collection requirements, the study team <br />will attempt to answer the research question using the following data source <br />sequence: <br />1 = Documents in hand <br />2 = Web data <br />3 = District data <br />4 = School site visit data <br />5 = Focus group data <br />6 = Individual Interviews <br />V. Timeline <br />May — June 2004 <br />Preliminary meeting to frame study <br />• Identification of Study Team members <br />• Preliminary review of documents <br />July — August 2004 <br />Study teams meets to review available <br />information and draft research questions <br />• Meet with Superintendents to review plan and <br />identify operating procedures <br />• Meet with committee to review plans <br />• Contact principals to notify them of the study <br />• Use current documents and web resources to <br />begin answering research questions <br />• Identify & request information still needed that <br />might be available through school districts central <br />offices <br />Sept. — Oct. 2004 <br />• Develop school site visit protocol <br />• Engage additional team members as needed <br />• Conduct school site visits, focus groups, & <br />interviews as needed <br />• Summarize information collected <br />• Draft report <br />November 2004 <br />• Meet with Sub - committee to review report <br />• Revise report as needed <br />• Submit final report <br />
