The Department of Environment, Agriculture, and Parks and Recreation (DEAPR) has <br /> receive donated funds of $3,700 from the Nutrition Hub and Strawbridge Studios to <br /> provide support for recreational programming within the department. This budget <br /> amendment provides for the receipt of these donated funds for the above purpose <br /> mentioned. (See Attachment 1, column 5) <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goal is <br /> applicable to this agenda item: <br /> • GOAL: FOSTER A COMMUNITY CULTURE THAT REJECTS OPPRESSION <br /> AND INEQUITY <br /> The fair treatment and meaningful involvement of all people regardless of race or <br /> color; religious or philosophical beliefs; sex, gender or sexual orientation; national <br /> origin or ethnic background; age; military service; disability; and familial, residential <br /> or economic status. <br /> Department of Social Services <br /> 6. The Department of Social Services has received public donations totaling $537 to be <br /> used for youth sponsorships for recreational activities. This budget amendment provides <br /> for the receipt of these donated funds for the above purpose mentioned. <br /> 7. The Department of Social Services has received final grant award notifications for FY <br /> 2018-19 for both of the department's Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) <br /> Grants within the General Fund. At the time of the budget adoption, only estimates were <br /> used based on prior year funding amounts until the department received the final grant <br /> awards. The WIOA Building Futures Program Grant will receive less funds than <br /> estimated in the amount of $5,196, while the WIOA Adult Worker Services Grant will <br /> receive $18,386 in additional funds than previously estimated. This budget amendment <br /> provides for the reduction in the WIOA Building Futures Program Grant, and provides for <br /> the increase in the WIOA Adult Worker Services Grant. (See Attachment 1, column 6) <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goal is <br /> applicable to this agenda item: <br /> • GOAL: ENSURE ECONOMIC SELF-SUFFICIENCY <br /> The creation and preservation of infrastructure, policies, programs and funding <br /> necessary for residents to provide shelter, food, clothing and medical care for <br /> themselves and their dependents. <br />
