I garden and frequently walk through the many trail,parks and neighborhoods in <br /> Orange County. I have taken a number of courses,through being a volunteer at Duke <br /> gardens,on topics such as botany,tree and flower cultivation,gardening and garden design.) have <br /> attended speakers and lectures on topics relating to the environment whenever I can. I have an <br /> interest in sustainable development and follow issues pertaining to land and water use, use of <br /> renewable resources and urban development. <br /> Reasons for wanting to serve on this board: <br /> I would like to be able to serve the county by helping review and making recommendations that <br /> best protect and enhance our environment, while balancing such needs as housing and retail <br /> development.
