The governing boards for the towns of Hillsborough and
Carrboro are considering the Agreement at their respective November 13, 2018 meetings. The
Town of Chapel Hill is expected to consider the agreement before the end of the calendar year.
An executive summary describing the Agreement is attached, along with the full agreement.

Robert Williams made the following PowerPoint presentation:

Interlocal Agreement Orange County Town of Chapel Hill Town of Carrboro Town of
Hillsborough

PURPOSE:
• Foster cooperation and collaboration between the County and the Towns regarding
matters related to solid waste management.
• Flexible framework in which the Parties can make decisions for their mutual benefit to
meet the evolving needs of the community while continuing to model environmental
excellence and leadership.
