Additionally, the OCHA must provide at least fifty 2 <br />percent (50%) of its local vouchers to applicants whose 3 <br />income does not exceed thirty (30) percent of the AMI. 4 <br />HUD income limits may also be used since they are 5 <br />similar to Housing Choice Voucher income limits. 6 <br /> 7 <br />APPLYING TO THE WAITING LIST Any individual/family who wishes to receive 8 <br />Any individual/family who wishes to receive rental 9 <br />subsidies under the OC Local Rent Supplement 10 <br />Program must apply for admission to the program. 11 <br />The Local Rent Supplement Program has a 12 <br />separate Waiting List and assistance is restricted to 13 <br />persons who are at or below fifty percent (50%) of 14 <br />the AMI. Priority will be given to Homeless 15 <br />Individuals/Families, Persons At Risk of 16 <br />Homelessness, Senior/Elderly Disabled Individuals, 17 <br />and Victims of Domestic Violence 18 <br /> 19 <br />ACESSIBILITY TO THE APPLICATION PROCESS the Department of Social Services 20 <br />(DSS), Community Centers and 21 <br />various service providers throughout 22 <br />the County. The Application period 23 <br />will run from February 1, 2019 – 24 <br />February 8, 2019. Persons having 25 <br />questions or needing assistance in 26 <br />completing the application may 27 <br />contact the Orange County Housing 28 <br />Authority/Department of Housing 29 <br />and Community Development at 30 <br />(919) 245-2490 or the TDD Number 31 <br />at (919) 644-3045. 32 <br /> 33 <br />OUTREACH AND MARKETING The new program will be announced on the 34 <br />County’s website beginning in mid-January 2019.
