4

Benefits: The additional financial burdens of this plan are likely smaller than the first, as the land
would already be owned by the town, and the regular maintenance would likely remain constant
or decrease. Residents will still have access to public transportation and live within the preferred
school district.

Unintended Consequences
Plan 1:
The aforementioned discretionary spending reserved for the mobile home parks may be enough
to fund either plan, but it is possible that more funding may be necessary to purchase the
currently occupied land. This can be allocated from existing county discretionary spending or
raised through taxes.

Plan 2:
The second plan would require additional personnel. Personnel would be needed to help
relocate the families, receive and implement community input, address unintended
consequences and damage to property, and survey the community after the move.

Step 6: How to ensure communication, accountability, and evaluate results?
• It will be important to conduct a follow up survey, an effective way to gauge the effects of
our proposal.
○ In our follow-up survey, we can repeat questions from the initial survey to
measure how responses have changed as well as ask new questions regarding
the implementation and outcomes of our proposal.
○ In conducting a follow-up survey it would be important to not only reach the
families that participated in the initial survey to see where they ended up, but also
to reach other community members who may have initially declined participation
to hear their input.
References
D. She said the students solely relied
on survey data, acknowledging that there are gaps in the data and it refreshed data is needed
to see if any participants that did not get to be part of the survey would like to be a part of it.
