2 <br /> <br />surrendered animals and how OCAS would determine conditional “do not adopt.” Clarification was offered <br />about the purpose of this policy by Bob Marotto. There must be consideration about an individual’s actions <br />and the OCAS actions on the community from where that individual came. Action item was tabled until April <br />under a Version C can be developed. <br /> <br />New Business: <br />(A) Animal Services Updates: Bob Marotto reported briefly on a large number of dogs were seized in early <br />March. The animals are being held during an ongoing law enforcement investigation. Taskforce on <br />Homeless Animals has made progress with educational and informative materials for partner agencies to <br />use as they assist their clients through inventions. The farm cat sterilizations continue to progress: 50-60 <br />cats so far; funding sources continue; and other interest groups from neighborhoods. New ideas are being <br />organized to provide more of the rabies and microchip clinics into the underserved communities: wellness <br />clinics (basic vaccinations, wormer, and basic screening for free plus fun health fair activities) are being <br />scheduled at the Rogers Rd Community Center, Efland Cheeks Community Center, Cedar Grove Community <br />Center, and Fairview Community Center. The Kitten Shower will be held in April to recruit fosters and to <br />provide donation/ gift giving opportunities, like an Amazon registry. <br />(B) Nuisance Provisions for Cats in Unified Animal Ordinance: Tabled until April. <br />(C) 2017 Statistical Highlights: Information items were attached. <br /> <br />Information Items (made available): <br />(A) Monthly Sheltering Statistical Reports, Feb 2018 <br />(B) Monthly Field Service Statistical Report, Feb 2018 <br /> <br />Adjournment and next meeting: <br />Heather Payne made a motion to adjourn at 8:07pm; Diane Obeid seconded.
