2 <br /> <br /> <br />Information Items : <br /> Communications are continuing with Duke Energy regarding plans for the easement <br />through Animal Services property. There have been staffing changes at Animal services, and <br />formal informational updates are on hold until new staff are hired. <br /> Update on the dog fighting case was presented, including the forensic evaluation of the <br />dogs and site and the process used to evaluate the temperament of those dogs that had no <br />evidence of having been used for fighting. <br /> ASAB voted to propose changes to the NC General Statutes to the Orange County BOCC for <br />inclusion in their legislative action plan allowing for the individual assessment of dogs that <br />have been fought rather than directing that any dog that has been fought must be <br />euthanized <br /> <br />Other <br />Recommend a new agenda item for the October ASAB meeting, namely, making recommendations for <br />changes in the NC general statutes to the BOCC for inclusion in the county’s legislative agenda. <br /> <br />Adjournment and next meeting: <br />The meeting was adjourned shortly after 8:00 pm.
