Year-To-Date Budget <br />Summary <br /> <br /> Paul Laughton, (919) 245-2152 <br />Gary Donaldson, (919) 245-2453 <br /> <br /> <br />PURPOSE: To approve budget and capital project ordinance amendments for fiscal year 2018- <br />19. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br /> <br />Sheriff’s Office <br />1. The Sheriff’s Office has received a grant award of $2,500 from the Alzheimer’s <br />Foundation of America to help those affected by Alzheimer’s and other dementia related <br />illnesses. These funds will be used to support training and equipment needs for the life <br />track program (to track walk-off patients). This budget amendment provides for the <br />receipt of these grant funds for the above stated purpose. (See Attachment 1, column 1) <br /> <br />SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goal is <br />applicable to this agenda item: <br />• GOAL: CREATE A SAFE COMMUNITY <br />The reduction of risks from vehicle/traffic accidents, childhood and senior injuries, <br />gang activity, substance abuse and domestic violence. <br /> <br /> <br />Department of Social Services <br />2. The Department of Social Services has received $2,164 in public donations to support <br />the Annual Toy Chest Drive in December. This budget amendment provides for the <br />receipt of these funds, and is budgeted in the Adoption Enhancement Fund, outside of <br />the General Fund. (See Attachment 1, column 2) <br /> <br />1
