I hold a MA from Lees-McRae College and a MA from <br />New York University. While my education has little to do with agriculture my life has been <br />provided for and by farming. I believe that agriculture, farming, and agri education is a <br />cornerstone of our community and my activism for local and family farms could be a benefit. <br />Reasons for wanting to serve on this board: <br />I will keep this simple: I am a 7th generation NC farm family and feel passionate about <br />preserving and educating our community agriculture. <br />Conflict of Interest: <br />Human Relations Commission <br />Background, education and experience relevant to this board: <br />My background as a 10 year business owner allows me to understand human resources, fair <br />hiring practices, and the need for diversity and inclusion. My Masters Degree was in specialty <br />education where I worked for an organization that presented diversity training and conflict <br />resolution. <br />Reasons for wanting to serve on this board: <br />Our county organizations and agencies are dependent on fair hiring practices, healthy/safe work <br />environments, and proper checks and balances. I would be honored to serve in a position that <br />allowed Orange County employees and citizens to feel protected and safe. <br />Conflict of Interest: <br />12
