My father was a farmer (in KY)and I come from a long line <br />of farmers. <br />Reasons for wanting to serve on this board: <br />Preservation of farms and farm land. <br />Conflict of Interest: <br />Board of Equalization and Review (REQUIRES DISCLOSURE STATEMENT) <br />Background, education and experience relevant to this board: <br />MBA with continuing education in finance (DUKE Executive Ed program: Finance for non- <br />financial managers.) Experience managing across functional and global geographic regions <br />which give me a unique perspective& experience in balancing outcomes within diverse <br />scenarios. <br />Reasons for wanting to serve on this board: <br />Although I m not totally sure what all this board does, it appears to be a point where I might be <br />able to use my skills to serve the community. <br />Conflict of Interest: <br />Board of Equalization and Review (REQUIRES DISCLOSURE STATEMENT) <br />Please list/explain your experience, either professionally and/or from other <br />boards/commissions that you have in the areas of real estate, tax appraisal or real estate <br />law. <br />I hold a NC real estate license, but am not affiliated with a company nor do I practice. I hold <br />license as a just in case . <br />In addition to the experience listed in the question above, please list the work/volunteer <br />experience/qualifications that would add to your expertise for this board. <br />Well networked (for HPC board) to assist in fundraising for the Orange County Architectural <br />History book the HPC is working on jointly with the city. <br />What do you see as the responsibilities of this board, and what do you hope to <br />accomplish if appointed? <br />HPC: To recommend properties for Landmark designation, to advise property owners, to <br />educate the public, and to promote preservation of historical properties, documents, and <br />artifacts. <br />I hope to help in anyway I can to support the boards initiatives. <br />10
