Staff met over the <br />summer break to review these topics and develop proposed recommendations/changes to be <br />discussed further at this work session. Attachment A details identified issues to be discussed, <br />and Attachment C depicts a proposed streamlined abstract format/membership roster/applicant <br />interest list for Board appointments. <br /> <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no financial impact associated with discussing issues related to <br />the Boards and Commissions Application/Appointment process. <br /> <br />SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goal is applicable to <br />this item: <br />• GOAL ENABLE FULL CIVIC PARTICIPATION <br />Ensure that Orange County residents are able to engage government through voting and <br />volunteering by eliminating disparities in participation and barriers to participation. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board discuss the various issues <br />related to the Board and Commissions Application/Appointment process and provide direction to <br />staff. <br /> <br />1
