<br />Y71U:REGS, the Chapel Hi11 City Hoa_*d of Education by resolution dated April 8, 1958, and the
<br />Orange County Hoard of Education try resolution dated April 9, 1958, have requested and petitioned
<br />the Hoard of Comniss_oners of Orange County, North Carolina, to call an election in the area caanrising
<br />the CzSrboro and Tlltite Cross School Districts to determine the vvi11 of the people on the issue oL
<br />vrhether or not these tro districts shall become a rart of the Chanel Hill City Administrative Unit.
<br />AND }}Tvx'tHAS, it aprears from said resolution and petition that a large number of citicens of
<br />the area comprising said txe districts, including a unanimous request by the Yihite Cross School
<br />Commdttee, have petitioned and urged the County Hoar3 of Educa~on to take action reeuesting an
<br />election in said two districts to determine the vri11 of the people on the question of whether or
<br />not these t;vo districts shall become apart oT the Chapel H111 City Administrative Unit.

<br />number of public meetings have been held and a great many citisens of these said tyro districts have
<br />met and discussed the question at issue and large numbers of said citizens have exoressed the desire
<br />that an election be called to givo the qualified voters an onuortunity to determine vrhether or not
<br />these said tyro districts shall become a part of the Chanel H111 Aaministrative Unit.
