This board meets only as <br />called to hear employee grievances involving demotions, suspensions, and dismissals. It forwards its <br />recommendations to the County Manager. <br />Currently there are two vacancies on the Personnel Hearing Board because member Ms. Kay Hovious <br />recently moved to Wilmington, North Carolina and member Mr. Edwin Caldwell passed away.. <br />The open positions are: <br />Position no. 2 At-Large / Management/Personnel Full Term Expires .June 30, 2006 <br />Position no. 3 At-Large <br />Full Term Expires .June 30, 2006 <br />The clerk's office has received several applications and staff has contacted each person to verify his/her <br />current interest and time commitment to serving on this Board. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: None.. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): Consider making two appointments to the Personnel Hearing Board as the <br />Board of County Commissioners may decide. <br />
