16 <br /> 1 Lucinda Munger and Jeff Thompson reviewed the next several slides, which were <br /> 2 matrixes and conceptual designs of the facility. <br /> 3 <br /> 4 <br /> 5 <br /> 6 <br /> 7 Evaluation matrix/pictures next 8 slides - page 5-8 <br /> 8 <br /> 9 Lucinda Munger said the library will be distinguished from the other parts of the building <br /> 10 by external signage and use of different materials. <br /> 11 Lucinda Munger described the interior of the building, noting spaces for the Town of <br /> 12 Carrboro, the Arts Center, and the County; as well as the ways that all entities will make use of <br /> 13 these spaces. She said the lobby will serve as a gathering space; the staircase will lead up to <br /> 14 the library and will be visible from the lower floor. She said there is also a teen center. <br /> 15 Jeff Thompson said there are 130 library parking spaces. <br /> 16 Lucinda Munger reviewed the second level of the building, where the library will be <br /> 17 located. She said the brown area on the slide is for the Arts Center Improve Theater and <br /> 18 classrooms. She said WCOM will be housed on this floor next to the library space. <br /> 19 Lucinda Munger said the net square footage of the library/orange section is about <br /> 20 13,500, and with the inclusion of the grey area, the total is 15,000 sq. ft. <br /> 21 <br /> 22 Lucinda Munger reviewed the final floor noting the Town of Carrboro and Arts Center <br /> 23 areas. She said the pinkish areas are shared space among all of the entities (e.g.: kitchen, <br /> 24 copy room, work room, etc.). She said the blue rooms are meeting rooms and these can be <br /> 25 rented out for events. She said the green roof will be designed to environmental standards, <br /> 26 including some elements of LEED design. <br /> 27 Jeff Thompson resumed the presentation: <br /> 28 <br /> 29 Current Key Project milestones - Estimates <br /> 30 2018 <br /> 31 • Oct. 25: Joint County/Town meeting: <br /> 32 o Designer presentation of schematic design <br /> 33 o Discussion by Boards at joint County/Town meeting <br /> 34 • Nov. 9: 45 day review period ends <br /> 35 • Late November: begin developmental design documents <br /> 36 <br /> 37 March 2019 <br /> 38 • March 1: Begin construction documents phase <br /> 39 • March 15: Anticipated staff approval of site permit documents <br /> 40 • March 18: 100% site work construction documents complete; 50% building construction <br /> 41 documents issued <br /> 42 <br /> 43 Summer 2019 <br /> 44 • June 19: Construction manager's guaranteed maximum price (GMP) approved; <br /> 45 commence site construction <br /> 46 • July 12: Submit building permit <br /> 47 • Aug. 12: Anticipated permit approval of building documents; commence construction <br /> 48 <br /> 49 2020 <br /> 50 Sept. 12: Construction substantially complete <br />
