Accomplishments To Date: 4 Projects <br /> Funded;2 Projects Underway and 2 Pending Start-Up. <br /> ✓ Manufactured Home Parks Initiative (The Orange County BOCC approved an assistance <br /> package to facilitate displacement mitigation activities for manufactured home park <br /> residents who are being displaced due to park closures.) The response to manufactured <br /> home park closures and potential resident displacement is an intergovernmental effort. <br /> The Towns of Carrboro, Chapel Hill, and Hillsborough are involved in the response effort. <br /> Furthermore, the BOCC approved the creation of a Revolving Loan Fund for manufactured <br /> home park owners as it relates enhancing existing parks or creating new parks.) (Loan Fund <br /> guidelines are being finalized.) Accomplishments To Date: Agreement approved for <br /> Relocation Coordination Services; awarded to EmPOWERment, Inc. 1 Family Assisted; 2 <br /> additional families went through the process but declined assistance. <br /> ✓ Local Rent Supplement Program (The BOCC approved this new program in June 2018 and <br /> allocated $100,000 to begin a local voucher program within Orange County. Guidelines for <br /> the new program are being developed and will be presented to the BOCC in November <br /> 2018. The new program will operate much like the federally-sponsored Housing Choice <br /> Voucher Program but will be more flexible in terms of meeting local needs.) <br /> ORANGE COUNTY HOUSING AUTHORITY (OCHA) <br /> Orange County Housing Authority (OCHA) was incorporated in 1969 and is a Section <br /> 8/Housing Choice Voucher only Housing Authority that has a HUD allocation of 623 vouchers <br /> and approximately 200+ participating landlords. In 2018, the Housing Authority also received <br /> five (5) VASH Vouchers for veterans, which brings the total number of federal vouchers <br /> administered to 628. OCHA is collaborating with the Durham VA Health Care System and the <br /> Orange County Partnership to End Homelessness to implement the program. <br /> The Housing Authority has a governing Board comprised of seven (7) members who are <br /> appointed by the Orange County Board of County Commissioners. <br /> Revised October 16, 2018 <br /> 3 <br />
