Amendment to Emergency Debris Removal and Processing Services Agreement <br />The Board approved an amendment extending an agreement between Orange County <br />and Ceres Environmental Services, Inc. through October 1, 2019 for the purpose of providing a <br />resource for Emergency Storm Debris Removal and Processing Services and authorized the <br />Manager to sign. <br /> <br />g. Health Services Agreement Amendments for the Orange County Detention Center <br />The Board ratified a 2011 Amendment and to approve Amendment #2 to the Health <br />Services Agreement for the Orange County Detention Center and authorize the Chair to sign. <br /> <br />h. Creation of a Permanent 1.0 FTE Information Technology Analyst Position in the <br />Orange County Sheriff’s Office <br />The Board created a permanent 1.0 FTE (full-time equivalent) Information Technology <br />Analyst position in the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. <br /> <br />i. Library Daily Deposit Waiver <br />The Board approved an exemption for Library daily deposits of cash up to $500, as <br />required by North Carolina General Statute 159-32. <br /> <br />9. County Manager’s Report <br />Bonnie Hammersley said at there is a letter at the Commissioners’ places from the Town <br />of Hillsborough, in reference to the Economic Development District (EDD,) and she said the <br />Town staff wants to work with the County but cannot make any guarantees since they are staff <br />and not elected officials. Box 8181 <br />Hillsborough, NC 27278 <br /> <br />RE: Confirmation of town actions in the Hillsborough EDD <br /> <br />Dear Bonnie, <br /> <br />This letter is to confirm our discussion from September 18 regarding the Hillsborough EDD, <br />particularly the properties south of Interstate 40. <br /> <br />The town adopted a resolution amending our Future Land Use Plan (which is also the Joint <br />Land Use Plan) on March 26, 2018. This amendment confirmed the land area expansion in the <br />earlier amendment to the Water and Sewer Planning and Boundary Agreement and designated <br />the additional land with the land use Suburban Office. This land use was selected in <br />coordination with Orange County Planning staff to ensure continued consistency of the plan as <br />adopted by both governing bodies. <br /> <br />To date, we have received no formal development proposals for any property south of Interstate <br />40 that proceeded beyond a basic inquiry about water and sewer service with the town board. <br /> <br />The town remains committed to its coordinated planning efforts with Orange County in this <br />district and around the perimeter of Hillsborough. <br />
