A total of$33,272 would come from the <br /> 16 County's general operating budget. <br /> 17 <br /> 18 Commissioner Jacobs asked if the type of vehicle and engine could be identified. <br /> 19 Theo Letman said it is a 20-passenger van with a diesel engine. <br /> 20 Commissioner Price asked if an electric van would be possible. <br /> 21 Theo Letman said a charging station would be necessary, and he could look into this. <br /> 22 <br /> 23 NO PUBLIC COMMENT <br /> 24 <br /> 25 A motion was made by Commissioner Price. seconded by Commissioner Burroughs for <br /> 26 the Board to close the public hearing. <br /> 27 <br /> 28 VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> 29 <br /> 30 A motion was made by Commissioner Jacobs, seconded by Commissioner Burroughs <br /> 31 for the Board to approve: <br /> 32 <br /> 33 1) Approve the Community Transportation Program Grant application for FY 2020 in the <br /> 34 total amount of$244,609 with a local match total of$33,272 to be provided when <br /> 35 necessary; <br /> 36 2) Approve and authorize the Chair to sign the Community Transportation Program <br /> 37 Resolution authorizing the applicant to enter into an agreement with the North Carolina <br /> 38 Department of Transportation (NCDOT) and the Local Share Certification for Funding <br /> 39 form; and <br /> 40 3) Authorize the Chair and the County Attorney to review and sign the 2020 Certifications <br /> 41 and Assurances document in Attachment 2. <br /> 42 <br /> 43 Commissioner Jacobs thanked Theo Letman, and said the County needs to reexamine <br /> 44 the way it does vehicles, and have the infrastructure to use electrical vehicles throughout <br /> 45 Orange County government. <br /> 46 Theo Letman said there are other federal grants available that the County could pursue <br /> 47 to help fund this infrastructure. <br /> 48 Commissioner Price asked if there are any programs to take advantage of the <br /> 49 Volkswagen settlement. <br />
