27 <br /> 1 Commissioner Rich asked if there is a tipping point at which a dedicated staff person will <br /> 2 be needed. <br /> 3 John Roberts said it is uncomfortable now, but until this year there has only been one or <br /> 4 two of these massive request; however, there have been several this year, which is line with the <br /> 5 statewide trend, but he would like to make sure this is a trend in Orange County before <br /> 6 requesting additional staff. <br /> 7 Commissioner Jacobs said there was a professor from Massachusetts that made a <br /> 8 huge request. He asked if this request was honored, and if this person was charged any fees. <br /> 9 John Roberts said since 2009, there has been a policy in place to recoup actual costs. <br /> 10 He said the request was for about 1 million pages, at the cost of around $10,000, and the <br /> 1 1 gentleman withdrew his request. <br /> 12 Commissioner Marcoplos asked if the North Carolina Association of County <br /> 13 Commissioners (NCACC) could find out if other counties would support a bill such as this. <br /> 14 John Roberts said he will follow up with NCACC General Counsel. <br /> 15 <br /> 16 11. *Appointments <br /> 17 <br /> 18 a. Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee —Appointments <br /> 19 The Board considered making appointments to the Adult Care Home Community <br /> 20 Advisory Committee. <br /> 21 <br /> 22 A motion was made by Commissioner Burroughs, seconded by Commissioner Rich to <br /> 23 appoint the following: <br /> 24 <br /> 25 • Position 1- Tiketha Collins - At-Large for a One Year Initial Term ending in 09/04/2019 <br /> 26 • Position 2 Nancy McCormick for an At-Large for One Year Initial Term ending in <br /> 27 09/04/2019 <br /> 28 <br /> 29 VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> 30 <br /> 31 b. Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee —Appointment <br /> 32 The Board considered making an appointment to the Nursing Home Community <br /> 33 Advisory Committee. <br /> 34 <br /> 35 A motion was made by Commissioner Burroughs, seconded by Commissioner Price to <br /> 36 appoint the following: <br /> 37 Position 4 for Stephanie Boswell for the At-Large position for a One Year Initial Term <br /> 38 ending in 09/04/2019 <br /> 39 <br /> 40 VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> 41 <br /> 42 John Roberts said state statute lets the boards merge. <br /> 43 <br /> 44 c. Animal Services Advisory Board —Appointments <br /> 45 The Board considered making appointments to the Animal Services Advisory Board. <br /> 46 <br /> 47 A motion was made by Commissioner Rich, seconded by Commissioner Price to <br /> 48 appoint the following: <br /> 49 • Position 2- Dr. Lee Pickett -Veterinarian -Partial Term ending in 06/30/2019 <br /> 50 • Position 5 Dr. Bryan Stuart - Town of Hillsborough - First Full Term ending 06/30/2021 <br />
