How does
funding this program add value to the community? (250 words OR LESS)
The Spoke'n Revolutions (SnR) program is a good investment for the community
because it provides quality youth programming to youth of color, a vulnerable
population, at a low cost. The SnR program was started by volunteers and
continues to be primarily a volunteer-run organization with low overhead costs.
Funding the SnR program adds value to the community by investing in the next
generation of community members and guiding them to become healthy,
competent, and responsible adults. Our afterschool and summer cycling programs
help students develop skills, knowledge, and a variety of other personal and social
assets to function well during adolescence and adulthood. We consistently observe
positive outcomes in our alumni as they move on to higher education, employment,
and adulthood. 100% of SnR participants have graduated from high school, with
90% moving on to college.
PROGRAM INFORMATION 1/23/2018 1:34:47 PM P a g e 1 7 o f 2 6
