z <br />The project has been engineered to be on property owned by Orange County, It will not affect <br />adjacent property that is part of Duke Forest, upon which an easement was granted to the <br />County by Duke University to help provide the appropriate buffers for the new C&D landfill. <br />Orange Ccunty solicited bids for this project in early May of 2004, No contractors responded to <br />that bid call, The County re-solicited bids for the project and one bidder responded. That bid <br />was submitted by CJ Maclsaac of Eden North Carolina at a total cost of $59,475.00. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: Total cost of this action, if approved by the Bcard, wculd be $59,475, <br />Sufficient funds to pay for this work have already been appropriated in the Landfill Operations <br />division of the 2003-04 Solid Waste Enterprise Fund budget, <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board award bid number 1390 <br />to CJ Maclsaac of Eden North Carolina at a total cost of $59,475,00; and authorize the <br />Purchasing Director to execute the necessary paperwork, <br />
