Technical assistance is available to all applicants, but Orange <br /> County also applied jointly with the Towns of Chapel Hill and Carrboro for a SolSmart Advisor to provide 6 <br /> months of free,full-time technical assistance.The application was successful and the Advisor will be shared <br /> among the three jurisdictions.The role of the Advisor will be filled by a team of solar experts from the NC Clean <br /> Energy Technology Center at NC State. <br /> The Advisor will work with the Sustainability Coordinator and the Planning Department to clarify and simplify <br /> processes related to Solar Power development and Solar-ready homes.The Advisor may also be able to help <br /> identify and rank order the best Orange County facility rooftops for solar power as well as respond to the BOCC <br /> petition on solar-ready construction. <br /> The Solar Foundation has reviewed and accepted edits to the attached MOU that were requested by Orange <br /> County staff and the County Attorneys.This agreement has also been reviewed and approved by Jeff Thompson, <br /> and the County's Risk Manager. <br /> Best Regards: <br /> lrjl � t� � o� <br /> Brennan Bouma <br /> Sustainability Coordinator <br /> P.O.
