75 <br />E. DISPOSAL OF COUNTY -OWNED PROPERTY <br />In 1974, Orange County acquired by foreclosure a parcel of land, <br />roughly one -half acre in size, on 10th Street in Mebane. Recently, the <br />grandson of the previous owner approached the Revenue Director and expressed <br />interest in acquiring the parcel. The County's financial interest in the <br />property is approximately $3,000. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Willhoit, seconded by <br />Commissioner Halkiotis to convey the property to Habitat for Humanity, OCHC, <br />or some other affordable housing organization, assuming that organization <br />demonstrates interest and can produce a plan for the timely and effective use <br />of the property. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Willhoit, seconded by <br />Commissioner Gordon to reconsider this item. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Willhoit, seconded by <br />Commissioner Gordon to refer this back to staff for additional background <br />information on what interest in the property the grandson of the previous <br />owner may have. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />IX. APPOINTMENTS <br />ORANGE COUNTY PLANNING BOARD <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Willhoit, seconded by <br />Commissioner Halkiotis to appoint Elizabeth Walters to the Orange County <br />Planning Board for a three year term in an AT LARGE position. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />TASK FORCE ON ELECTING COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Willhoit, seconded by Chair Carey <br />to appoint Sharon Worthington as the N.Q.W. representative and Robert Ferguson <br />in an AT LARGE position. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />HUMAN SERVICES ADVISORY COMMISSION <br />Motion was made by Chair Carey, seconded by Commissioner Insko to <br />appoint Karen B.
