Mr. Lawless is National Past President of the American <br />Institute of Professional Geologists, and President of the Virginia Section. He also serves <br />on the State Water Supply Plan Advisory Committee, and the Groundwater Recharge <br />with Reclaimed Water Stakeholder Advisory Group. <br />Groundwater Monitoring Services, Concord Turnpike Regional Landfill, City <br />of Lynchburg/Region 2000 Services Authority, Lynchburg, VA: Project Director. <br />Groundwater monitoring program at the City of Lynchburg landfill since 1996. <br />Successful negotiations with DEQ minimized cost of program while maintaining <br />compliance. <br />Engineering and Groundwater Monitoring/Corrective Action Services, <br />Spotsylvania County, VA: Managing Principal. Managed and executed various <br />aspects of both projects including meeting Phase I and Phase II monitoring <br />program requirements, addressed DEQ comments and other regulatory issues; <br />performed environmental impact characterizations, technology assessments, risk <br />assessment, corrective action planning and design, surface water monitoring and <br />other applicable tasks. <br />Groundwater Monitoring Program, Giles County Landfill, Giles County, <br />VA: Established and implemented groundwater monitoring program. Installed <br />monitoring well network. Characterized site hydrogeology. Minimized costs by <br />maintaining the facility in detection monitoring for several years. Established <br />groundwater protection standards once facility was required to enter assessment <br />monitoring. Initiated residential well sampling program to identify and protect the <br />County’s liability. <br />Groundwater Monitoring Program, Rockbridge County, VA: Project Director for <br />groundwater monitoring programs at the closed landfill. <br />Groundwater Monitoring Program Management, Floyd County, VA: <br />Groundwater monitoring and reporting; program management for the County. <br />Completed and implemented Corrective Action Plan including Monitored Natural <br />Attenuation and risk assessment. <br />Michael D.
