Through successful management of the County's <br /> program and proactive attention to environmental impacts and protection of nearby residents,the County has <br /> developed an excellent relationship with the Virginia DEQ,and has resulted in significant cost savings. Services <br /> have included: <br /> • Development of the groundwater monitoring programs for all five landfills <br /> • Alternate source demonstrations for several facilities and constituents <br /> • Nature and extent studies <br /> • Assessment of corrective measures,and development of corrective action plans <br /> • Strategically placed active remediation system -successful. Identified a small,confined release through <br /> the use of direct push technology,and established a focused remediation system <br /> • Stormwater permitting <br /> • Wetlands permitting <br /> • SPCC plans <br /> Landfill Groundwater Monitoring and Solid Waste <br /> Engineering Services <br /> Bedford County,Virginia <br /> Draper Aden Associates began its work with Bedford County in <br /> the late 1980s. <br /> i <br />
