Better broadband access for the <br /> underserved areas of Orange County <br /> 2. Enhanced broadband access for unserved <br /> and underserved areas <br /> 3. An efficient way to meet the broadband needs of <br /> Orange County residents for the foreseeable <br /> future <br /> Last mile and middle mile solutions can be fiber, coax, <br /> mobile wireless or microwave. Solutions should provide <br /> 25 Mbps download/3 Mbps upload immediately and <br /> consideration for 100 Mbps symmetrical service by 2020 <br /> (in accordance with the National Broadband Plan <br /> https://www.fcc.gov/general/national-broadband-plan <br /> Service Area Orange County, NC includes 3 municipalities: Chapel Hill, <br /> Carrboro and Hillsborough; and the following 7 township <br /> districts: Cedar Grove, Little River, Cheeks, Hillsborough, <br /> Eno, Bingham and Chapel Hill. See Map in Appendix B <br /> Single Service Areas in the county that only have 1 wireline service <br /> Provider Area provider. See map in Appendix B <br /> Unserved Areas Areas within Orange County that have no access to <br /> wireline broadband service as identified in Appendix B <br /> Underserved Areas Areas within Orange County that have access to Internet <br /> service that does not meet the definition of broadband, <br /> i.e., these areas have download speeds <25Mbps.
