2 <br /> <br />e.Ensure that students wear DTCC uniforms during internship clinical hours and classroom <br />time; <br />f.Obtain FERPA releases for all contracted students; <br />g.Monitor student progress through close communication with lead instructor; and <br />h.Participate in competency testing <br /> <br />3.That students will be required to: <br /> <br />a.Follow all the established guidelines for all Durham Tech students enrolled in the <br />Continuing Education Paramedic Program. <br /> <br />b.Prior to beginning the Academy successfully complete an Anatomy & Physiology course. <br />(This requirement can be met by taking EMS 3000, or having successfully completed BIO <br />163 or 168&169. EMS 3000 is eligible for fee waiver, and is held online. EMS 3000 will not <br />count towards the degree program.) <br /> <br />c.Meet OEMS requirements: <br /> <br />i.Have a high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma. <br /> <br />ii.Reading comprehension, English language and mathematical skills on a post-secondary <br />level. Students who have completed a college level English and/or Math course or are <br />eligible to enroll in a college level English and/or Math course meet the requirement. <br />Students who do not meet this requirement must take the NCDAP Reading/English and <br />Math placement test. These placement tests are offered at DTCC. <br /> <br />4.Both Parties agree that all student records shall remain the property of the DTCC and shall be <br />subject to the confidentiality and disclosure provisions of applicable federal and state statutes <br />and regulations. Neither party shall release or forward to any person any student record, <br />including, but not limited to, the student’s identity or any "directory information" as defined in <br />the party's own policies, without the written consent of the student. <br /> <br />5.Tuition and Costs Associated with the Paramedic Academy (see Exhibit B), as may be amended <br />from time to time, shall not be the responsibility of DTCC. <br /> <br />6.Term: This Memorandum shall be effective from August 20, 2018 to August 19, 2019, and may <br />automatically be renewed each year thereafter unless terminated by either party upon sixty <br />(60) days written notice to the other. <br /> <br />7.Termination. This Agreement or its renewals may be terminated at any time without penalty <br />by either party provided that written notice of such termination is furnished to the other party <br />at least 90 days prior to termination. In the event of such termination any payment shall be <br />prorated to the date of termination. <br /> <br />8.Amendments or Modification. This Agreement shall not be altered, amended or modified, <br />except by an agreement in writing executed by the duly authorized officials of both parties. <br /> <br />9.Subcontract or Assignment.
