These controls will be examined and <br /> maintained on a regular schedule. Appendix (B) includes the schedule for <br /> reviewing the effectiveness of the control for this department/establishment. <br /> • Hand washing facilities shall be made available to the employees who incur <br /> exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials. These facilities are to <br /> be readily accessible after incurring exposure. If there is a case where a hand <br /> washing facility is not accessible, an antiseptic cleanser in conjunction with clean <br /> cloth/paper towels or antiseptic towelettes is to be provided. If this alternative is <br /> used, then the employee is to wash their hands with soap and running water as <br /> soon as possible after the occupational exposure. The location(s) of the nearest <br /> hand washing facility should be readily available to employees that are using the <br /> alternative method. <br /> • Supervisors shall ensure that after the removal of personal protective <br /> gloves, employees shall wash hands and any other potentially <br /> contaminated skin area immediately or as soon as feasible with soap <br /> and water. <br /> • Supervisors shall ensure that if employees incur exposure to their skin <br /> or mucous membranes then those areas shall be washed or flushed <br /> with water as soon as feasible following contact. <br /> Revised July,2018 <br />
