These core <br /> competency points should be reflected in the daily evaluation forms. <br /> Patient Care: Assesses and applies appropriate care in emergency situations <br /> • Assess need for more personnel and /or equipment <br /> • Assess chief complaint/problem accurately <br /> • Assess need for immediate vs. transport interventions <br /> • Uses history and exam findings to accurately diagnose the patient <br /> • Assess own need for more information regarding a patient problem/ medical procedure <br /> • Demonstrate adequate knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology <br /> • Use appropriate terminology, symbols, and abbreviations in oral and written reports <br /> • Demonstrate appropriate knowledge of pharmacology <br /> • Demonstrate ability to determine which protocol(s) are appropriate for a given patient <br /> • Demonstrate knowledge of treatment protocols and procedures <br /> Call Management: Plan patient care/scene actions appropriately <br /> • Plan a systematic approach to patient care using assessment information <br /> • Adhere to appropriate scene times <br /> • Demonstrate reasonable and safe priorities of care/action <br /> • Obtain appropriate treatment orders which are appropriate for the patient's problem(s) when not <br /> specified by standing protocols <br /> • Demonstrate ability to adapt to a dynamic working environment <br /> Communication: Show ability to effectively communicate with coworkers, patient, and family <br /> • Demonstrate ability to effectively transmit and receive information via appropriate communications <br /> mediums (i.e. Radio, cell phone, Life pak modem, etc.) <br /> • Interact courteously with crew, first responders, patients,families, dispatch, others <br /> • Give organized, clear, and accurate reports to hospital via radio and/or phone <br /> • Give organized, clear, and accurate report to receiving personnel <br /> • Share plan of care/action with crew members and other responders <br /> • Display professional behavior at all times on duty <br /> Equipment&Supplies: Demonstrate appropriate use and care of equipment <br /> • Show working knowledge of equipment for field use <br /> • Participate in care and maintenance of equipment <br /> • Properly documents all required information and reports problems to supervisor in a timely fashion <br /> 101 -' a e <br />
