Since most residents are also living within <br />the greater Carol Woods community, the <br />general councils are considered to take the <br />place of the Family Council. We were <br />previously told there are over 120 resident <br />committees within Carol Woods. <br />15a. Was a current activity calendar posted in the facility? YES <br />15b. Staffing Report on the 3rd floor was not <br />displayed. Nurse searched for, presented and <br />then removed report. <br />2. Resident reported the bath sling used on <br />Thursday Bath Days for her was uncomfortable <br />and resulted in a dread of her bath and Thursdays. <br />She indicated the sling hurt her back and added <br />she had complained several times to staff. <br />3. Resident reported his TV was not functioning <br />properly (a work order had been placed). He is <br />very frustrated with his current situation and the <br />staff responses to him. “ They go too fast,” he <br />told us. <br />4. Kitchen floor in the Bluebird Team area was not <br />clean, i.e. crumbs littered the floor and a liquid <br />spill had become sticky. This is the second <br />observation in this kitchen area. <br />Discuss items from “Areas of Concern” Section as well as <br />any changes observed during the visit. Give summary of <br />visit with Administrator or SIC. Does the facility have <br />needs that the committee or community could help address? <br /> 1. Missing Staffing Report was shared as an area of <br />concern. <br />2. Bath Sling discomfort was shared as an area of <br />concern. Discussed that bath time should be <br />pleasurable, and whether there are other types of bath <br />slings or a work around that could be implemented. <br />3. TV repair and resident feeling rushed were shared as <br />matters of concern. <br />4. Issue regarding floor of Bluebird Kitchen was shared <br />as an area of concern. <br />5. Recent necessity for implementing emergency <br />preparedness due to County emergency water shutoff <br />was discussed. <br /> <br />Carol Woods’ staff took notes regarding all areas of <br />concern. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
