Activities include trips <br />to Wal Mart (popular!) and to local <br />restaurants, table games, and working <br />outside if a resident so desires. Several <br />residents were out with family at the <br />time of the visit. This occurs often, <br />and the owners encourage active <br />family involvement with residents. <br />Certain outside organizations visit <br />residents often and help residents <br />prepare for holidays. <br />16and 16a. Snacks are available at <br />resident request and provided by <br />owners. <br />17., 17a., 17b. All meals are served <br />family style given the small resident <br />census. Does the facility have a functioning: Resident’s Council? <br /> Family Council? <br />N/A <br />N/A <br /> <br />Areas of Concern Exit Summary <br />Are there resident issues or topics that need follow-up or <br />review at a later time or during the next visit? <br /> <br />Owners, Betsy Collins and her sisters, were very <br />knowledgeable and impressed the visit team with their <br />dedication to caring for the residents and providing a good <br />experience for them. The one area of concern noted by the <br />visit team was the darkness in the homes, due to drawn shades <br />& lights not being on. This could present a safety risk. <br /> <br />One member of the visit team, Will Lang visited the home on <br />October 31 to share Halloween items. Owners’ relatives were <br />there talking with residents. Preparations were underway for a <br />Halloween Party. Mr. Lang was invited back at Christmas time <br />to help residents prepare for that holiday <br />Discuss items from “Areas of Concern” Section as <br />well as any changes observed during the visit. Give <br />summary of visit with Administrator or Supervisor-In- <br />Charge. Does the facility have needs that the <br />committee or community could help address? <br /> <br />The owners, three sisters, accommodate a very unique <br />resident population. On visit date census was 10 <br />residents with 12 total, one female, 9 men. Likely too <br />complex/challenging for their family to care for at <br />home or are homeless and unable to care for <br />themselves. Owners frequently assist residents with <br />needs related to clothing, personal items, etc. that may <br />exceed their SSI allocation. All three sisters state that <br />they are CNAs and have medication tech certification. <br />
