Are there resident issues or topics that need follow-up or <br />review at a later time or during the next visit? <br /> Areas of Prior Concern: <br />-Lack of nighttime monitoring <br />-Strong urine odor on one or two women residents <br />-Inability to get additional beverages at meals <br /> <br />Present Areas of Concern <br />-Lack of nighttime monitoring <br />-Lack of nametags <br />-Bedbugs <br />-Uncomfortable temperature/humidity <br />-Sticky handrails <br /> <br /> <br />Discuss items from “Areas of Concern” Section as well as <br />any changes observed during the visit. Give summary of <br />visit with Administrator or SIC. Does the facility have <br />needs that the committee or community could help <br />address? <br /> The committee met with Doris Coleman, <br />Administrator, at the beginning and end of the visit. <br />The entire atmosphere of the facility has changed <br />since her arrival and our last visit. She shares that the <br />QuickMAR system, with which she has experience, <br />has simplified medication administration. Medical <br />records are mandated to be kept electronically by <br />2018 and they are working on that now. <br />Ms. Coleman has had all staff read and sign the <br />Residents Bill of Rights and is working on programs <br />to increase their knowledge base. <br />Regarding #2,-Ms. Coleman will speak to the night <br />staff to ensure when they do their rounds every 2 <br />hours that they specifically check urinals. <br />Regarding #5a-Ms. Coleman acknowledges that <br />nametags are an issue and efforts to change this will <br />be done when the ‘time is right’. She is carefully and <br />steadfastly working on small changes one step at a <br />time. <br />Regarding #8-The State mandated protocol is being <br />followed regarding eradication of bed bugs. The <br />affected residents have been removed from their room <br />until such time that the room is considered clean. <br />Ms. Coleman states that the temperature, humidity <br />issue is due to the residents not adjusting the <br />thermostats appropriately. The staff frequently has to <br />readjust the settings. <br />Regarding #10-Ms. Coleman indicates that the <br />handrails are wiped down nightly and the stickiness is <br />noted daily after meals. <br /> <br /> <br />
