17b. Did residents express positive opinions regarding their dining
experience (the food provided)?
Yes

17a. Residents are encouraged to
eat in the dining hall to increase
socialization. It is very attractive,
clean staff know the residents and
meals are altered to accommodate
their food requests. It is a little
formal and charming.

17c. Is fresh ice water available and provided to residents? Yes
18. Do residents have privacy in making and receiving phone calls? Yes
19. Is there evidence of community involvement from other civic,
volunteer or religious groups?
Yes
20. Does the facility have a functioning: Resident’s Council?
Family Council?
Yes

Areas of Concern Exit Summary
None.

We discussed in the exit interview that there seemed
to be more rooms empty than on previous visits.
Laurie confirmed and said she was not sure why that
was. The CAC met with Administrator Laurie
Sawyer and expressed our impressions that
everything seemed excellent, including all of the
activity from staff and patients in the memory care
section.

In January the CAC did not visit because of the large
number of residents who had the flu. They still are on
alert concerning this and requested we wash our
hands between rooms and if we touched residents to
wash our hands before we touch the next resident.
They are trying very hard to get the facility "germ"
free. They have a higher number of empty beds than
they would like to have and are not sure of the reason
for that. There are no conflicts among residents that
we noted and this was confirmed.
