Give summary of visit
with Administrator or SIC. Does the facility have needs that
the committee or community could help address?
Again, we observed Brookdale is a caring and positive
community. The staff know the residents and each other well
and help maintain a “family-like” social and living
experience. Staff consider Brookdale the residents’ home and
they work hard to make it so.

Summary of exit interview: Current Director, Allison
Mihaley will be leaving to work for a Brookdale program in
the western part of NC. She has built a great team at
Meadowmont and they will hopefully continue their
outstanding work.

Brookdale offers weekly offsite outings. In-residence
activities are reviewed and updated as needed, e.g. Music
Binger—Name that tune style is a current hit over usual
number Bingo.

The continuing procedure of documenting resident
preferences and history, and entering on a database, helps
ensure that staff and program directors can consider their
“family” of residents when making decisions that affect their
lives. The data is updated as things change for residents and
the community.
1/2015
