Highlights include:

Contract runs from May to November
Total cost is $14,500 to be paid in three installments ‐ $4,000 (in current BOH budget); $5,000 (requested in
18/19 budget); and $5,500 (will be applying for grants. I’ve already reached out to ZSR who is interested, and
will be contacting BCBS & Triangle Community Foundation all who were recommended by OpenSource and have
a good relationship with them).
Will have to develop a Racial Equity Strategic Planning Team (RE SPT) that consists of a more diverse group of
members than just REC. Will create a team of 11 and will invite various staff members to represent clinical,
frontline staff, and dental (Dr. George our current member is going on maternity leave). Any thoughts?
Process will consist of:
o First meeting with RE SPT 2 ‐3 hours
o Review from various info and polices from OCHD and REC
o Personal interviews of various staff, focus groups, and surveys
o 2nd half day meeting with RE SPT
o Full‐day retreat with RE SPT and other stakeholders (staff and community)
o Draft strategic plan

Let us know if you want to meet to discuss or if you’re ok with us sending this on to Kim to begin the contract work.

Also one of our consultants Sterling Freeman, does not have a certificate of insurance. The other consultant Kathleen
didn’t have one either and the HD previously approved a waiver of liability with her. Can you please let us know if you
approve to waive liability for Sterling?

Thank you,

Beverly N Scurry
Board of Health Strategic Plan Manager
DocuSign Envelope ID: 37EAA0D3-06DF-49F6-9A05-435214F50E8B
