He resumed the presentation:

Diversion Outcomes on Detention Population-graph-page 10 slide

Caitlin Fenhagen, Criminal Justice Resource Director, said she attributes these positive
outcomes to the whole court system, court stakeholders, and law enforcement; not just her
department.
Commissioner Jacobs said John Roberts sent an email to the Board about allegations of
ADA violations at one of the courthouses.
John Roberts said the allegation referred to the old courthouse, and the complaint was
filed with the Clerk of Courts, and is not a formal legal complaint yet.
Chair Dorosin thanked Caitlin Fenhagen and her staff for their work with the Criminal
Justice Resource Department, and commended the good work being done. He said he wanted
to extend the County’s appreciation.
Caitlin Fenhagen said many challenges remain, and in the future her department will be
looking to divert persons completely from the jail. She said the next step is to look toward law
enforcement assisted diversion, and possibly a diversion facility. She said the mental health
work in the jails, and the peer support work in the detention center now will start to bare fruit
with people in the community frequently seen at the detention center. She commended law
enforcement for its willingness to discuss diversionary programming.
