Greensboro Capital Project Update (we are calling it “The 203 Project”)
cc: Bonnie Hammersley, County Manager
David Andrews, Carrboro Town Manager
Patricia McGuire, Carrboro Planning Director

Throughout the summer, Perkins + Will, the project architect, has conducted several public input
sessions on the vision and programming for the 203 Project. A joint stakeholder group consisting of
staff members of Carrboro, Orange County, and The ArtsCenter have also met regularly with Perkins +
Will to process this input, develop shared spaces within the overall building program, examine cost-
benefit relationships with this work (as well as to examine budget factors), and to review site and space
planning options that can be mutually supported.

The work is moving forward collaboratively as contemplated in the project Development Agreement
between Orange County and the Town of Carrboro. We continue to be satisfied that the library’s space
and programming needs remain intact.

The information repository for the project is located at http://townofcarrboro.org/1151/The-203-
Project

The Carrboro Board of Aldermen is holding a public hearing during their regular meeting on September
4th at 7:30 p.m. to discuss the progress of the project, to review design options related to the site and shell
building, and to gather public feedback. The Board of Orange County Commissioners will be provided a
summary of this meeting as an information item for its schedule meeting on September 20th, 2018.

We are available to answer any of your questions regarding this project.
