County Manager's Report
Bonnie Hammersley said during public comment at the June 5th meeting, there was a
request to create a Mountain to Sea Trail (MTS) advisory group, and after talking with staff,
Chair /Vice Chair, and the Parks and Recreation Committee (PARC), it has been determined
that this topic will be incorporated under the PARC, as it already contains a MTS item in all of
its meeting agendas. She said this seemed better than creating a new committee from scratch.
She said she will attend the PARC meeting on August 1, where this will be fleshed out, and
more information provided at a BOCC meeting in September.
Bonnie Hammersley reminded the BOCC of the Transit Oriented Development (TOD)
meeting on June 21St with Durham County, and she said the first item on the agenda will be an
update on the Durham Orange Light Rail Project.
