Proclamation Recognizing the Carrboro High School Men's Tennis Team for <br />Winning the 2018 State Championship <br />The Board considered voting to approve a proclamation recognizing the Carrboro High <br />School Men's Tennis Team for winning the 2018 State Championship, and authorizing the Chair <br />to sign. <br />Todd McGee, Community Relations Director, said this team has the second highest <br />GPA of any team in North Carolina. <br />Commissioner Burroughs read the proclamation: <br />ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />PROCLAMATION OF RECOGNITION ON <br />CARRBORO HIGH SCHOOL MEN'S TENNIS TEAM <br />WINNING THE 2018 STATE CHAMPIONSHIP <br />WHEREAS, on May 19, 2018, the Carrboro High School Men's Tennis Team won the North <br />Carolina High School Athletic Association's 2A State Championship with a 5 -2 <br />victory over Brevard High School; and <br />WHEREAS, the team completed its season with a 16 -2 record; and <br />WHEREAS, the doubles team of Zach Anderson and Andre Javen also won the 2A state <br />championship in the individual competition; and <br />WHEREAS, under the guidance of Coach Jon Noyes, the team won its third state <br />championship in the past five years, along with the 2014 and 2015 <br />championships; and <br />
