He said he contacted
this person and listened to his concerns, and the rest of the Board is invited to do the same.
Commissioner Burroughs said the Family Success Alliance (FSA) applied to the Kenan
Charitable Trust and received $300,000 over three years, which is a huge win.
Chair Dorosin echoed Commissioner McKee's request about the Keith Arboretum
issues, and also requested an update on what Orange County has already done, and what are
the enforcement steps that may or may not need to be taken.
Chair Dorosin clarified that Commissioner Jacobs reported that the BRT is not
recommended to go to Durham Tech.
Commissioner Jacobs said that is correct. He said he voiced that Durham Tech and the
hospital have expansion plans, and the numbers being used for projections are from 2013. He
said the current projection was 50 additional riders, as the cost of $500,000 and thus it was not
recommended. He said the numbers will change as some of these projects come on line.
Chair Dorosin said to make sure the most current numbers are being used, and that
Durham Tech is a part of the conversation.
A motion was made by Commissioner Price, seconded by Commissioner Rich to add
the OWASA appointment as 4 -i, since there is someone from the public that has signed up to
speak on this item.
VOTE: UNANIMOUS
4.
