She said there are more people to listen to than initially <br />thought, and thus the expenses are higher. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Rich, seconded Commissioner Jacobs to provide <br />$4000 to the Orange County Food Council for racial equity study and implementation. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />Travis Myren resumed the presentation: <br />Operating Budget Amendment #6 (General Fund) <br />— Amendment Fully Funds Requests <br />• $3,000 Increase Requested by Chapel Hill - Carrboro Meals on Wheels <br />— Total Grant Request - $18,000 <br />• $21,000 Increase Requested by Orange Congregations in Missions <br />(OCIM) <br />— Total Grant Request - $92,415 <br />— Manager Recommendations Based on Funding Formula <br />• $900 Increase Recommended for Meals on Wheels <br />• $6,300 Increase Recommended for OCIM <br />• FY2018 -19 Operating Budget <br />Commissioner Price said she contacted OCIM, who reported that these funds would <br />specifically cover meals, and not other programming. She said she was unable to reach the <br />Meals on Wheels program, but assumes the funds would go directly to food, as this is mostly a <br />volunteer run program. <br />Commissioner Rich asked if these initial requests were part of the outside agency <br />process. <br />Bonnie Hammersley said yes. <br />Commissioner Rich said changing the funding amount would again be going against the <br />established process. <br />Commissioner Price asked if these funds would come out of OPEB. <br />
