44 <br />- -The program would provide greenspace and natural resources <br />as the county's population and development expands. <br />- -The program maintains opportunities to produce locally <br />grown food 'and fiber. <br />ARTICLE IV <br />DEFINITIONS <br />The following are defined for purposes of this ordinance: <br />Advisory Board: <br />Chairman: <br />District: <br />Board of <br />Commissioners: <br />Creation <br />Alamance County Agricultural Advisory Board. <br />Chairman of the Alamance County Agricultural <br />Advisory Board. <br />Voluntary Agricultural District as established <br />by this ordinance. <br />Alamance County Board of Commissioners. <br />ARTICLE V <br />AGRICULTURAL ADVISORY BOARD <br />The Board of Commissioners establishes an Agricultural Advisory <br />Board to implement the provisions of this program. <br />Appointments and Membership <br />The Agricultural Advisory Board shall consist of seven members <br />appointed by the Alamance County Board of Commissioners. <br />1. Recruirements <br />(a) Each board member shall be a county resident and <br />registered to vote in Alamance County. <br />(b) Five of the seven members shall be actively engaged in <br />farming. <br />(c) The Board Members shall be-selected for appointment by <br />the Board of Commissioners from the--names of individuals <br />submitted to the Board of Commissioners by the Soil and <br />Water Conservation District, the Cooperative Extension <br />Service, the Natural Resource Conservation Services, the <br />Farm Service Agency, and the Alamance County Farm <br />Bureau, with an effort to have the broadest geographical <br />representation possible. <br />
