Order of Business: <br />The order of business at regular meetings shall be as follows: <br />1. Call to Order <br />2. Roll Call <br />3. Consideration of Additions to Agenda <br />4. Approval of Minutes <br />5. Public Hearings <br />6. Items for Decision <br />7. <br />Discussion Items <br />8. <br />Informational Items <br />9. <br />Adj ournment <br />The order of business may be varied by unanimous consent of the members present. <br />F. Time Limits <br />1. The Board may limit the length of a meeting or set a time for adjournment by <br />a concurring vote of a majority of those members present. <br />2. The Board may limit the time each person at a public hearing is allowed to <br />speak by a concurring vote of a majority of those members present. <br />G. Open Meetings <br />All regular and special meetings, public hearings, records, and minutes of the <br />Board shall be open to the public, however, the Board shall have the power to <br />meet in executive session providing appropriate procedural necessities are <br />complied with as prescribed in North Carolina's open Meeting Law, N.C. General <br />Statutes, G.S. 143-318.1 to 143 -318.7 (1974). The press shall be notified by <br />telephone or in person of special meetings at leas forty -eight (48) hours prior to <br />the meeting. <br />H. Agenda <br />1. The agenda for each regular or special meeting or public hearing shall be <br />prepared by the Secretary of the Board, following consultation with the Chair. <br />2. The agenda for each meeting shall be mailed to all members no later than <br />three (3) days prior to the scheduled meeting or hearing, except in the case of <br />special meetings called under Section 3.B. in which the agenda will be <br />delivered or orally transmitted, as appropriate, to the members no later than <br />forty -eight (4) hours prior to the scheduled meeting or hearing. <br />3. No business, either old or new, may be considered by the board unless such <br />item properly appears on the agenda. However, any matter may be considered <br />0 <br />
