Shirley Siegel indicated that she is interested in simplitving the process of <br />applying for services and deciding which services are needed. <br />Ned Brooks indicated that he felt the Task Force's Report needs to be used in <br />setting the agenda for the next policy forum. <br />Bev Foster mentioned that during_ the non - departmental review process the vision <br />statement could be used as a part of the HSAC's internal review of budget <br />requests. <br />Don Wi l l hoi t indicated that the county's-budget form could be revised to contain <br />a request that each agency indicated how they are responding to the vision <br />statement. <br />Chris Gambi I i indicated that his persona i i ntereist is .1 n the area of r.he <br />international population in the county. He indicated that we have a large <br />international population whose needs are not being aadressea. He si)ggested a <br />I ist of language interpreters be compiled. Several suggestions oT resources were <br />made. Chris Gambi i i wi i i work. with Margaret Henderson to consitn;er sG1'1e(1Ui,ln <br />an interagency conference to discuss the needs of this special group. Ned <br />Brooks, Shirley Siegel and Barbara Warren indicated an int.erest in this issue. <br />They were unable to serve on the subcommittee due to other commitments, however, <br />they wi 11 help as time permits . Bev Foster indicated that she wi i i ask the Board <br />of Health if they are experiencing a shift in the population they serve. Phil <br />Cooke mentioned that the Research Triangle Foundation is interestea in this <br />issue and may be able to fund a study at some point in this project. <br />REQUEST FROM THE BOARD OF SOCIAL SERVICES TO EXPLORE EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE <br />COORDINATION: Peggy POI l i tzer i nd i cated that she wi 11 f i nd out f rom the agenci es <br />with which she is involved what kind of coordination currently exists for <br />emergency assistance needs. <br />EDUCATION FOUNDATION: Barbara Warren indicated that the Education Foundation <br />is selling coupon books to raise money for the Orange County schools. She has <br />books of coupons to se i 1 for $10.00.
