A. Districts & School Profiles <br />a. Per Pupil Expenditure <br />As shown in Table 1, both districts rank fairly high in per pupil expenditure in the <br />state. Chapel Hill - Carrboro City Schools (CHCCS) rank 5th and Orange County Schools <br />(OCS) rank 17th out of 117 districts in North Carolina. Overall, CHCCS spend almost $1,000 <br />more per pupil than the OCS. The difference in local per pupil contributions comes from a <br />special property tax levied on residents of Chapel Hill and Carrboro. <br />Table 1.
