Proficiency Standards <br />• PREP Academies - A program to enable non - proficient fifth and eighth <br />grade students to become proficient in reading, mathematics, and <br />writing at the appropriate grade level. <br />• Decentralization of summer school to provide a summer program at the <br />appropriate grade level <br />• LEP Task Force recommendations - one system wide ESL teacher <br />Compensation <br />• Increase teacher supplement one additional percent for those between 0 <br />and 9 years of experience so that minimums are 7% and 8% <br />• Removal of cap in Teacher Supplement Program after four consecutive <br />years of successful teaching experience <br />• Fund the enhancements recommended by the Supplement Study <br />Committee.
